Volunteer With Sankofa Scholars

Help Young People Discover Who They Are—and Who They Can Become.

Share your time, experience, and talents with young people exploring African and African Diaspora culture, leadership, service, and global citizenship.

Become a Volunteer

Invest Your Time in the Next Generation

Sankofa Scholars empowers young people to explore their heritage, broaden their worldview, develop leadership skills, and build meaningful relationships with peers throughout the African Diaspora.

Volunteers help bring that mission to life. Whether you can lead a workshop, mentor a student, assist with a cultural activity, support a field trip, or help behind the scenes, your contribution can make a lasting difference.

You do not need to be a teacher or an expert to serve. We are looking for dependable, caring people who believe in our young people and are willing to show up for them.

3

Support Program Sessions

Help with student activities, setup, meals, supplies, registration, photography, and other program-day needs.

4

Assist With Field Trips

Serve as a chaperone or provide logistical support during museum visits, cultural experiences, service projects, and educational outings.

5

Help scholars plan and complete projects that respond to real community needs while building teamwork, empathy, and responsibility.

6
