At Sankofa Travels, our strength lies in our people. The organization is led by Kofi Annan, our Founder and Executive Director, whose vision for Sankofa grew from a lifelong passion for cultural reconnection, community building, and travel. Kofi is a former chef and restauranter with decades of leadership experience in community development and international engagement. Kofi brings a unique perspective on how meaningful travel can transform lives and strengthen ties within the African diaspora.

Supporting this vision on the ground is Fraser Kapobee, our Operations Director, a proud Ghanaian with over fifteen years of experience organizing tours in Ghana who oversees all in‑country logistics. From coordinating tours to ensuring authentic and seamless cultural experiences, Fraser serves as our vital link between travelers and the vibrant communities we explore.

Guiding our mission is a diverse board of directors made up of community leaders from Petersburg who have either lived in Ghana or have deep roots there. Their combined expertise in education, business, and cultural preservation helps us create transformative experiences while honoring the legacy of the places we visit. Together, our team works to ensure every journey with Sankofa Travels is impactful, authentic, and unforgettable.
