On 8 September 2025, Ghana’s historic town of Tutu in the Eastern Region unveiled the “Tutu Wɔ Bi Ka” Heritage Centre, a groundbreaking initiative and centerpiece of the Unfolding Cultural Heritage (UCH) project. More than just a museum, this center embodies a vibrant collaboration between Ghanaian communities and international partners, illustrating how culture can serve as a bridge across continents.
The UCH project springs from a dynamic partnership between Ghana’s ArtLife Matters and Italy’s Fondazione Pianoterra. Together, they are working to preserve, share, and celebrate Ghana’s cultural heritage through modern, community-centered approaches.
Eric Agyare, Director of ArtLife Matters:
“Our heritage lives not only in monuments but in the hearts of our people.”
He emphasizes the role of the Heritage Centre as a living hub for education and exchange.
The Heritage Centre is conceived as an evolving space where Ghanaian youth and international visitors can engage with stories, artifacts, and performances — not as passive spectators but as active participants.
The “Tutu Wɔ Bi Ka” Heritage Centre is more than an archive — it is a bold statement about the power of cultural collaboration to shape our collective future.
